FAQ
Honest answers to the common questions.
Booking a photographer should feel easy. Here's what most clients want to know before they reach out.
How do I book?
Send an inquiry through the contact page with the basics: date, location, category. I'll reply personally within two business days with availability and a recommended package. Once we agree on the details, a small retainer secures the date.
How far do you travel?
Anywhere. North Perth (Listowel, Atwood, Monkton, Wallace) is included on every package at no mileage cost. Outside that area, mileage is $0.70 per kilometre and that's it. No per-diem, no inflated travel fees.
How long until I get my photos?
Family and lifestyle sessions: digital images delivered within one to two weeks. Weddings: full galleries delivered within three to four weeks. The Deluxe wedding package adds three sneak-peek images within three days and a USB drive of all images in two to three weeks.
Are engagement sessions really included?
Yes. Every wedding package (Basic, Essential, Deluxe) includes a complimentary engagement session. It doubles as a chance for us to meet, get used to working together, and shake off any camera-shyness before the big day.
What should we wear?
For families and engagements, I encourage clothes you actually own and feel like yourself in. Earthy tones, natural fabrics, and consistent palettes photograph beautifully. If you book the Deluxe family package, image consulting covers wardrobe and location planning together.
Do you have a second shooter?
For most weddings the day is well-covered by a single photographer, which keeps prices honest. If you'd like a second photographer added for full ceremony angles or larger weddings, I can build that into a custom package.
What does your editing look like?
Warm, true-to-life, photojournalistic. I edit for the light that was actually there rather than imposing a trendy preset. No selective desaturation, no heavy AI re-touching, just clean, timeless images that will still look good in 20 years.
Do you do prints, albums, and wall art?
Yes. The 20-page custom hardcover photobook is $55, and I can quote prints, enlargements, and canvas pieces against your final gallery so you get a consistent print-shop result instead of guessing.
How do payments work?
A retainer secures the date when you book. The balance is due before the session or wedding. E-transfer is preferred for simplicity; cheque or card via invoice are also fine, whichever is easiest for you.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. JayPEG Photography carries professional liability insurance and gear coverage. If your venue requests a certificate, I can send one ahead of the day.
Didn't find your question?
